Known for fusing African traditions with contemporary jazz, his music carries both cultural depth and global resonance, earning him recognition as a true ambassador of world jazz. His latest album Penuka, commissioned by Global Oslo Music, explores the centuries-old cultural exchanges between Africa, the Arab world, and India, reimagined through a contemporary jazz lens.

With the Penuka, these ideas come alive on stage—creating a vibrant soundscape of collaboration and cultural exchange. Multistring

Stina Hellberg Agback, Steinar Aadnekvam

MULTISTRING brings together Swedish harpist Stina Hellberg Agback and Norwegian guitarist Steinar Aadnekvam in a duo where harp and acoustic guitar form an intimate yet expansive dialogue.

Hellberg Agback, hailed as “a completely unique phenomenon in the field of European jazz” (SKJAZZ), is celebrated for her improvisational openness and her ability to reveal both the lyrical beauty and striking power of the harp. Aadnekvam, drawing on decades of immersion in Afro-Brazilian traditions, jazz, and global music, has shaped a distinctive acoustic voice that combines sophistication and rhythmic vitality with lush, dreamlike soundscapes.

Together, they create music that flows seamlessly between jazz, chamber-like subtlety, and global influences. Their interplay is at once playful and profound — two string instruments merging into a sound world far greater than the sum of its parts.
